@sheaheen we can have non student members but we still need to have a base number of students registered with us (and only students of UWS count towards that number) otherwise we cant exist as a society. If we register an event via the University or use their grounds to hold the event then we would need to be recognised by the university as a society, even then it proved to be extremely difficult to get the university to let us use the union for an event Cool - some food for thought on getting members - if anything I say here is stepping on toes or talking mince just let me know!: - As the UWS is also based outside Paisley, would it be an idea to have a kind of Lanarkshire branch of Hobbits? It might help you get the student requirement you need. I help run a gaming club based in Hamilton that meets once a month so I might be able to help in this regard. - I've found that there's often bleed into anime/manga enthusiasts and gamers - some of which do both activities. Does the UWS have an anime/manga/otaku society? Do they play games? They might be Hobbits in an oriental disguise.
